You have several young children. How are you able to balance home life while having a full time job?

Let me tell you it’s not so pretty some days! Every day is so different. Some days I feel calm-ish through the chaos and some days I feel like I could lose my mind. What I’m learning through this process is just giving over to what is without beating myself up for it. It’s an ebb and flow of leaning into the good days but also leaning into the bad days.

How do you organize your home while keeping your kids in mind? How are you able to manage all of their stuff?

You don’t! Well okay ... I try to stay on top of things. Instead of a pile of laundry building up or clothes not getting folded, I do a little bit every single day.

Which parts of your own life are the most and least organized?

Most: Kitchen cabinets.

Least: My bathroom and closet which is typical Melissa fashion especially during this quarantine.

Your number one tip for a new mom:

Opinion shop less and intuitively listen to your gut - it will never do you wrong.

What is the perfect gift for a new mom?

Let her sleep in! But really anything that’s approachable such as a nice bubble bath, lymphatic drainage paddle, a membership to my workouts at melissawoodhealth.com. ;)

How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?

I started because I wanted to create a solution to something I believe was currently missing in the space. When I had my first son I was unable to work out the way I used to before. I quickly found that low impact movements through yoga and pilates style principles using your own body weight could create beautiful long, lean lines throughout your entire body.

What’s something you didn’t know about starting your own business that you learned along the way?

How insanely hard it can be and how having an incredible team is the most important thing.
