Design for function at its best

Today, the Imagine It Done team is going to show you how to design for function at its best. If you follow us on Instagram, you've probably noticed our usual hashtag #designforfunction. This is a major component of organization that sets us apart! Design for function is essentially the combining of aesthetic design pieces and functional organizational accessories. We're going to show you some of our favorite organization products and solutions that double as decor.

Glass DIY Pantry

A glass pantry is a perfect example of when design meets function. Glass canisters look super clean and sleek. More importantly, they keep your food and pantry staples fresh and stored sanitary. We love the Artisan Glass Canisters with Oak Lids, OXO Good Grips 10-Piece POP Canister Set, & Acrylic 20-Bottle Spice Rack from the Container Store.

Storage Furniture

One of our favorite tips and tricks for our NYC clients in a small apartment is to purchase a storage bed! You can get them from many different vendors (our favorite is from Calligaris). You can also include other multifunctional ottomans, chests, and trunks to store everything from seasonal decor to blankets and throws.

Wall Shelving

Wall shelving is a great way to store your items vertically, which will help free up countertop space. This beautiful look is well planned and is also super functional. Wall shelving works really well with a vertical bar cart, too. You can get creative and add gorgeous crystal decanters & vintage bottles. Check out this amazing coffee bar below we set up for one of our clients.

Window Seating

Window Seating is super warm, comfortable, and also extremely practical. It can be set up to hold a home filing system, like the picture on the bottom left, or you can store everything from photo albums to seasonal throw pillows.
